Small Business Branding
Branding means the target market can indentify your brand. Your brand must be powerful enough to set you apart from competitors. Eg. a customer will think of your business and services, even your exact location, simply by hearing your name or seeing your logo, colours or associated branding iconography. Some ways to achieve this:
- Always include your logo in high quality on everything your produce and with every touchpoint of communication. Eg.
- Website, Facebook, Twitter, email group interactions, online ads
- Signage on-site
- Posters, flyers and brochures in-house, including price lists and catalogues
- Documentation — make a policy like staff are not to print anything for anybody without your logo, website address and phone number
- Email signature, letterhead, business cards, return passes etc.
- Consider having a [Brand Short Name] branded car
- All forms of marketing including advertising and publicity affect your branding
- Think about [Brand Short Name] brand awareness over the next 3–5 years. What will you be doing in 3 years time to promote your brand. Do you need to allow scope for doing so in your choices now?
